Diagnosis & fix steps

MAP Sensor Voltage Too High/Low. LOGIC: The Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor signal is outside the expected 0.5V - 4.5V range. ACTION: 1. Check the vacuum line between the throttle body and the MAP sensor. 2. Verify 5V reference at the sensor. FIX: Replace the MAP Sensor or repair the cracked vacuum line.

Red Seal field insights

The plastic vacuum tube leading to the MAP sensor becomes brittle with age. Often, the sensor is fine, but the tube has a hairline crack or has "elbowed" off the intake.
