Engine cranks but won't start; Rough idle; Sudden loss of power or "limp mode."

Diagnosis & fix steps

Crank/Cam Position Correlation. LOGIC: The ECM detects that the timing marks between the Crankshaft and Camshaft sensors do not align. ACTION: 1. Inspect both sensor connectors for moisture. 2. Check for loose reluctor wheel. 3. Verify engine timing/belt/gear alignment. FIX: Replace faulty Crank or Cam sensor; adjust mechanical timing; repair harness "noise" or interference.

Red Seal field insights

This code often pops up after a timing belt or gear train repair. If the sensors are new, double-check that the tone wheel wasn't installed backward or "one tooth off."
