Diagnosis & fix steps

LOGIC: J1939 Data Link #1 Abnormal Update Rate / Comm Timeout. ACTION: Disconnect main battery banks. Measure terminating resistance across CAN High (Yellow) and CAN Low (Green) pins at the 9-pin/16-pin diagnostic port (spec: 60Ω across dual 120Ω resistors). Inspect pass-through cab bulkhead connectors and driveline harness drop-downs for chafing or moisture.

Network Collapse: Loss of cyclic broadcast packets between the machine/body controller, transmission TCU, and engine ECM causes controllers to drop into failsafe hold modes. A shorted drop-leg or dropped terminating resistor halts data framing across the entire trunk.
