Diagnosis & fix steps

LOGIC: Turbocharger Boost Limit Exceeded (Overboost). ACTION: Inspect Variable Nozzle Turbo (VNT) electronic actuator linkage. Check for mechanical binding or carbon packing in turbine nozzle ring; verify boost pressure sensor vacuum line is free of soot.

Red Seal field insights

VNT Carbon Seizure: Prolonged low-idle operation on provincial roadwork causes heavy soot packing in the turbine variable guide vanes, sticking them closed and triggering overboost cutoffs.
