Diagnosis & fix steps

LOGIC: System Charging Voltage Above Maximum Operating Limit (>16.0V). ACTION: Measure alternator charging voltage across battery terminals at 2,500 RPM. Inspect alternator internal ground; replace external/internal solid-state voltage regulator.
