Symptom
Frequent DPF warning; Excessive fuel consumption; Power derate.
Diagnosis & fix steps
Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) System Performance.
LOGIC: The EGR flow is not meeting the expected parameters, which often affects DPF regeneration temperatures.
ACTION: 1. Check EGR cooler for clogging.
2. Verify EGR valve movement.
3. Check for intake manifold leaks.
FIX: Clean EGR cooler and intake manifold; replace EGR valve.
Red Seal field insights
If the EGR system isn't working perfectly, the DPF will soot up 3x faster. Don't just clean the DPF; you must fix the EGR flow issue or the DPF will clog again in a week.
