Dead Cylinder 1 / Exhaust Stumble

System

Ignition / Misfire

Symptom

Dead Cylinder 1 / Exhaust Stumble

Diagnosis & fix steps

LOGIC: Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected. ACTION: Swap Coil 1 to Cylinder 2. If misfire follows coil, replace Diamond/Denso coil pack. If misfire remains on Cyl 1, measure compression (must be >170 PSI; minimum 130 PSI) and inspect valve lash.

Red Seal field insights

Tight Exhaust Valve Lash: Solid bucket/shim or direct-acting valves on K6A/R06A engines tighten over time; zero valve lash burns exhaust valve seats, killing low-RPM compression.
