Red Stop Lamp / Engine Fan Locked at 100%

Diagnosis & fix steps

LOGIC: Engine Coolant Temperature Critically High (>106°C / 222°F). ACTION: Check radiator core for dirt, bugs, or chaff plugging external airflow fins. Inspect viscous fan clutch or pneumatic fan solenoid operation. Test thermostats in hot water bath for full opening travel; check for blown head gasket pumping combustion gas into coolant.

Red Seal field insights

Thermal Shock Failsafe: Severe coolant temperature triggers step-down power cuts and fan locks to prevent cylinder head warpage, cracked valve bridges, and melted piston crowns.
