Diagnosis & fix steps

LOGIC: Underdrive (UD) Hydraulic Pressure Switch Circuit Range. ACTION: Drop the pan and remove the valve body. Inspect the flat steel separator plate for cracks around the check ball seats. Vacuum test the Underdrive switch passage and replace the solenoid switch block assembly.

Check Ball Erosion: The small polymer check balls inside the 68RFE valve body wear down and hammer against the separator plate, dishing the metal holes out until fluid cross-bleeds into adjacent pressure switch cavities.
