Engine Cuts Out During Full Acceleration

Variant 1

System

Fuel System

Symptom

Engine Cuts Out During Full Acceleration

Diagnosis & fix steps

LOGIC: Fuel Rail Pressure Below Target Minimum Limit. ACTION: Replace in-tank fuel pickup screen and fuel filter. Inspect Suction Control Valve (SCV) on Denso HP3 pump for internal scoring; perform injector leak-off test.

Red Seal field insights

Suction Cavitation: High fuel volume demand under wide-open throttle causes pressure drops when fuel tank pickup filters are fouled with biological fuel algae.

Variant 2

System

Fuel System

Symptom

White Smoke / No Start

Diagnosis & fix steps

LOGIC: Fuel Rail Pressure Too Low. ACTION: Check the "Suction" side of the fuel system for air bubbles (clear line test).

Red Seal field insights

Specs: Actual pressure is 10MPa below target. FIX: Replace the fuel filter and check the primer bulb for cracks.

Variant 3

System

Fuel

Symptom

Engine stalls under load; Limp mode; Hard starting.

Diagnosis & fix steps

Fuel Rail Pressure Too Low. LOGIC: PCM detects rail pressure below the minimum threshold to sustain combustion. ACTION: Use a scan tool to monitor "Target vs. Actual" rail pressure. FIX: Replace the fuel filter.

Red Seal field insights

This is the #1 code in PH. Check the fuel-water separator first; high water content in local diesel often clogs the filter early.
