Symptom

Limp Mode / Surge. Engine lacks power under load; Rail pressure erratic.

Diagnosis & fix steps

Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Range/Performance. LOGIC: Actual rail pressure deviates from the ECM "Target." ACTION: Replace fuel filter. If issue persists, inspect the SCV (Suction Control Valve).

Red Seal field insights

In Africa, this is often caused by "dirty" diesel. The SCV gets tiny scratches from debris and sticks. Pro-Tip: Instead of replacing the expensive pump, try replacing just the SCV and cleaning the fuel rail.
