Diagnosis & fix steps

Fuel System Leak Detected - Large Leak. LOGIC: The ECM detects a sudden, massive drop in rail pressure that doesn't match the injector firing map. ACTION: 1. Check for external leaks at the rail and injectors. 2. Perform an injector leak-back test. 3. Check the Pressure Relief Valve (PRV) on the rail. FIX: Replace leaking injector or the Fuel Rail Pressure Relief Valve.

If there are no visible external leaks, the PRV is likely "popping" early and returning fuel to the tank. You can check this by removing the return line from the rail and checking for flow at idle.

LOGIC: Fuel System Large Leak Detected. ACTION: Check SCV (Suction Control Valve) on high-pressure pump for sticking or varnish. Inspect common rail pressure relief valve (PRV) return line for continuous bypass flow while cranking.

Fuel System Leak Detected (Large Leak). LOGIC: ECM detects a sudden, massive drop in pressure on the high-pressure side. ACTION: Inspect the fuel rail, injectors, and high-pressure lines for visible wetness. FIX: Tighten or replace High-Pressure Fuel Lines or faulty Injectors.
