Symptom

Frequent DPF warning; Engine derate; Fuel smell in oil.

Diagnosis & fix steps

DPF Regeneration Duration Error. LOGIC: The DPF cleaning cycle is taking too long to complete (Soot won't burn off). ACTION: 1. Check the "5th Injector" (Exhaust Fuel Addition Valve) for clogging. 2. Check differential pressure sensor hoses. FIX: Clean or replace the 5th Injector; perform a forced regeneration.

Red Seal field insights

The 5th injector in the exhaust is famous for carboning up. If it's blocked, no fuel gets to the DPF to burn the soot, and the regen will fail every time.
